Why Did Kamala Harris’ 2020 Presidential Campaign End?

Hey everyone! Remember the start of 2019? There was a lot of buzz around Kamala Harris as she launched her presidential campaign. She was seen as a high-profile candidate, drawing huge crowds and even getting a significant boost in the polls after a strong debate performance.

But as the months went on, her campaign hit a major roadblock: money. Or, rather, the lack of it. Campaigns are incredibly expensive, and without enough financial resources, it’s tough to compete, especially in a crowded primary field.

Another big challenge was her message. Voters found it hard to pinpoint what she truly stood for. Her campaign struggled to define her consistently, wavering between different issues and even grappling with how to present her record as a prosecutor to a progressive Democratic base.

And that wasn’t all! There were also reports of internal turmoil and a poorly structured campaign. When a team isn’t on the same page, it can really hinder progress and decision-making.

So, facing a lack of funds and struggling to gain consistent traction, Kamala Harris made the difficult decision to withdraw from the presidential race on December 3, 2019. It was a surprising end for a campaign that started with so much promise.

However, that wasn’t the end of her political journey! In August 2020, Joe Biden chose her as his running mate, and they went on to win the general election, making her the first female Vice President of the United States. So, while her presidential bid ended, her path to national office continued!
